Tap targets are too small or too close together

Some buttons and links are smaller than a fingertip, or crowded so tightly together that the wrong one gets pressed.
Who this affects
Anyone using a touch screen, especially people with tremors, arthritis or limited fine motor control, and in practice everyone on a moving bus.
Fix it in WordPress
Usually the social icon row, pagination numbers, or star ratings. Increase the icon size or add padding in the widget's Style settings. In Elementor this is the Icon widget's Size and Spacing controls.
What the fix is, technically
Give interactive elements at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels, or leave enough space around them that a 24 pixel circle centred on each does not overlap its neighbour. 44 pixels is the comfortable target.
