Links with no readable text
link-name
Some links contain only an icon or an image with no description, so a screen reader announces them as "link" with nothing else.
Who this affects
Screen reader users, who often navigate by pulling up a list of all links on a page. Empty links make that list useless.
Fix it in WordPress
Most often this is a social media icon row or a logo link in the header. In Gutenberg's Social Icons block set the Label field. In Elementor's Icon widget, add the Accessible Name under Advanced.
What the fix is, technically
Give the link visible text, or add alt text to the image inside it, or add an aria-label describing where the link goes.
