Text-to-speech (TTS) is best known for screen readers, but it's just as useful for turning a written script into a voiceover for a short video, proofreading your own writing by ear (mistakes are often easier to catch listening than reading), or converting notes into audio you can listen to while doing something else.

Writing text that sounds natural when spoken
Short sentences and normal punctuation (commas and periods where you'd naturally pause) read far more naturally aloud than long, comma-free run-on sentences. Spell out abbreviations that aren't obvious out loud — '3 AM' reads more reliably than '3am' in some engines, and numbers written as digits sometimes read differently than expected, so a quick listen-back before using the file matters.
